Ascendia's accounting team provides complete accounting and tax services, including preparation of annual financial statements, tax returns and quarterly or annual activity statements.

We have a professional yet independent working relationship with a Certified Company Auditor to whom we refer our SMSF trustees seeking the annual audit of their SMSF. This ensures that you have an independent auditor inspecting the accounts of your SMSF.

Our financial planning and investment team provide comprehensive SMSF advisory services, as well as specialised investment administration and management services to SMSF trustees. This includes a fully compliant comprehensive statement of financial advice detailing specific investment advice – what and how much of what assets to buy/sell/hold and what services to use to assist the fund to achieve the appropriate objectives of the fund.

A compliance administration service is also available to trustees to assist in maintaining compliant records and operating their fund in compliance with the law.  This service includes annual investment strategies, Product Disclosure Statements (annually), and relevant trustee minutes relating to the management and administration of assets and the fund.

Finally, our investment team has a professional and yet independent working relationship with Horrell Legal who provide regular and comprehensive reviews of SMSF trust deeds to ensure they are up to date with current legislation and regulations.  We recommend this be done every three years as a minimum. Where such reviews have not been completed on regular basis the SMSF may have been operated in a manner outside of the scope of the funds deed.  There are considerable legal and financial penalties associated with this behaviour – whether accidental or not.
